With the blessing of my supervisors and the WRDTC I'm attending the LSE Summer School in Qualitative Methods (15-26 August 2016), along with about 45 other people who enjoy school so much that we consider this a suitable holiday activity! Getting there from Streatham Common where I've been staying with friends for the first week, I walked through Lincoln's Inn Fields for the first time - impressed by the old and elegant buildings and intervening walkable spaces giving a sense of significance of the place. Later I wondered at the connections there may be between the siting of the LSE and the historic Guilds, Orders, Masonic halls, etc that permeate this part of our capital city. Someone's clearly thought about the symmetrical positioning of the different styles of those telephone boxes! (a Mars bar as prize to the first person who tells me who designed both...)
